Points Based System Tier 1 | IntroductionThe first tier will apply to highly skilled workers such as managers, doctors, entrepreneurs and investors whose skills, academic qualifications, previous employment and past earnings will enable them to build up the amount of points necessary to be able to enter the UK without a job offer. A degree, 5 years work experience and a salary in excess of 40,000 GBP in the last full year of employment will all help accumulate extra points in support of an application. Additional points may also be given to highly skilled applicants under the age of 32. Successful applicants will be able to apply for permanent residence after 2 years and may be allowed to bring dependents into the UK.Tier 1 is aimed at attracting applicants who have the very highest skills or who wish to establish to become established as an Entrepreneur or to invest or to gain experience through Post Study Work in the UK. The Tier 1 (General) route is the replacement for the Highly Skilled Migrant Programme; it may be possible for you to remain in the UK under the HSMP Judicial Review. Your dependants living overseas will be able to apply for entry clearance by applying through Status Solutions UK under the Fast Track Scheme or we will asses your application via our Calculator. You should not apply for this status if you have overstayed your welcome in the UK, also as this application requires consistent evidence, you must obtain proper legal advice, the Border & Immigration Agency fees are non refundable if refused and a refusal may affect any future applications made on your behalf. If you are living abroad the application can still be filed from the UK, you will have a better chance of success by instructing us to handle the process right from the start. |
